A developmental edit is used to prepare for the next phase of rewrites on your manuscript. This type of edit is what takes a story from good to great. Feedback focuses on the big picture of your manuscript, reviewing its overall structure, plot, character development, pacing, and thematic consistency. I will provide feedback and suggestions to improve the writing at a fundamental level rather than focusing on grammar or minor stylistic issues Delivery time: 1 month Each developmental edit comes with (2) online meetings, (2) read-throughs of your manuscript, In-line comments and critiques of specific passages and areas of concern with the manuscript, A detailed editorial letter outlining all areas of concerns and suggestions for rewrites, A content spreadsheet itemizing plot points and character arcs with their locations in the manuscript to help you stay organized during rewrites. Booking this 30 minute session gets you on my calendar for a consultation call. We will chat on the phone or through text depending on your preference to discuss delivery timelines, get to know one another, and discuss expectations.
